Sorry X Held A CD And Vinyl Signing Via SBG Records At Aftershock Festival 2026
Sorry X signing CDs and Vinyl at the SBG Records booth during Aftershock Festival 2026, Sacramento, California
I had the fortune of talking with Sorry X during Aftershock Festival 2026, which took place October 1st-4th at Discovery Park in Sacramento, California. Based in Phoenix, Arizona the Heavy Rock Metal Core/New Metal artist was on hand to sign CDs and Vinyl promoting her debut album, EXES via SBG Records which released on July 24, 2026. We met up in the media lounge to talk more about her new album and what it means to be a woman in a music genre that is heavily dominated by male artists and bands.
Sorry X spent close to two years working on EXES, siting it as a ‘coming of age’ album touching on subjects like heartbreak and mental health. She worked with Tobin Esperance, bassist for Papa Roach on two of the songs. The album also includes a feature with Drowning Pool (THE WRONG ONE) and a guitar solo by CJ. Not just a heavy metal singer, Sorry X also plays bass, tenor saxophone, drums, and guitar. Although she does not consider herself a strong musician, she hints to the possibility of playing guitar and/or saxophone onstage during her set.
Sorry X has always loved the hard rock genre and recognizes that while doors are opening up more for women, we still have a way to go. Rock festivals feature a majority of male-led, all-male bands with less than 10% of women included in their lineup. This year at Aftershock Festival less than ten bands of the 140+ bands featured women members. She shares how important it is for her to utilize her platform to encourage younger women and girls who wish to embark on a career in heavy metal.
Upcoming performances include a Halloween show at The Rebel Lounge in Phoenix, AZ on October 30, and at the Crescent Ballroom December 19 with Eyes Set To Kill. Get your tickets for these shows at sorryxmusic.com
